Pre-Kindergarten

OCA’s Pre-Kindergarten Program focuses on the development of the whole child (social, emotional, physical, and most important – spiritual) through active learning experiences. We employ a warm, nurturing, and engaging developmental approach to education for children who are 4 and 5 years old.

Omaha Christian Academy provides a faith-based education. The program allows children to participate in free-play, small group activities, whole group activities, and have interactions where they make discoveries, investigate, problem solve, and develop social skills. This, along with a structured curriculum, and organized hands-on teacher-directed activities promotes success and positive self-confidence as students prepare for the vital transition into kindergarten.

Our qualified staff and smaller class sizes enable each child to develop according to his or her own pace, interest, and learning approach.

The structured curriculum allows the following kindergarten readiness opportunities for your child:

  • Fine motor practice
  • Compose and decompose numbers up to 10 with manipulatives
  • Copying, lengthening, and constructing patterns
  • Uppercase and lowercase letter identification
  • Letter-sound correlations
  • Blending letter sounds
  • High frequency sight words
