HIGH SCHOOL

High school course selection can play a significant role in a student’s post-secondary options. We encourage you to consider your options carefully. In addition to meeting graduation requirements, students should select the most challenging courses to prepare for post-secondary education and careers. Most colleges, as a part of reviewing college applicants, evaluate a student’s GPA in light of their course load. As an example, Harvard admissions asks: Has the student reached their maximum academic potential? Has the student stretched themselves?

It is critical for both students and parents to be involved in the course selection process. You are also encouraged to seek the advice of OCA’s counselor, administration, and teachers as necessary during this process. The faculty and staff are here to support your success; please don’t hesitate to ask for our help during this process!
