Often during a difficult time in life, the most comforting thing can be the most familiar. Take a look at Psalm 23 and let the Word fall on you afresh. The One who is your Shepherd, He your Protector, your Provision, He is the Gate and the Pasture for Rest, He is the Table and He makes you His honored guest. He is hunting you down with goodness and loving kindness.
In the storms of our life we have the invitation to sit down at the table with our Shepherd right in the middle of the overwhelming situation or difficult time. His promise is to meet us there in the middle of the mess and lead us gently hand in hand, protecting us, and providing for us. Often when we walk through a valley of deep darkness, we don’t see the beautiful masterpiece that He is making in our lives.
But hold fast to Him! He promises to pursue you with His goodness, mercy and love and bring glory to His name. His promise at the table is Him, His presence, His Word and His will. His provision is abundance because He is enough! Have you come to a place in your life to realize you need a rescue from the Shepherd? That you need His help, His provision, His protection, His mercy, His love?
Let Him lead you, little lamb; the Shepherd always knows where to find you.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
3 He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
