Dear Friend,

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of the year. It usually follows a beautiful autumn, where the tree-lined streets radiate God’s majesty (and this year was no exception!). Thanksgiving is also the time of year when we actually hit the pause button to express thanks to the Creator for His numerous blessings. I am especially thankful this year, as I was asked to lead Omaha Christian Academy – my dream job!

As a former teacher at Omaha Christian Academy, I know the importance of developing young minds for the future. OCA’s mission to educate students in the light of Biblical Truth is as relevant in our culture today as it has ever been. And now, I am so thankful for the opportunity to lead this amazing school. Please allow me to share a few highlights with you.

One of my favorite things about a K–12 school is interacting with 5 years olds and 16 year olds – in the same day! And one of the especially wonderful realities is knowing that each child, at his/her own level, is introduced to the love of Jesus Christ. Wednesday chapel is a rich time to see God’s majesty on display through corporate worship and prayer – at every grade level!

Of course, OCA also provides an excellent, Christ-centered education. Our students score above the 70th percentile on national assessment exams, and OCA’s graduation rate is 99%. From kindergarten to their senior year, students walking the halls of OCA are prepared academically, spiritually and vocationally. None of this would be possible without the professionalism and commitment of the classroom teachers. Even though the State Department of Education allows accredited school some latitude in teaching outside of one’s area of endorsement, 100% of OCA’s faculty teach subjects in which they were formally trained. I am so proud to be a part of a high quality team that continually strives for excellence in their classrooms.

At this time of thanksgiving, the beautiful display of God’s majesty in creation outside mirrors the beauty of His creation inside OCA. The smiles and laughter of the little children, the growth spurts and exuberance of a middle school child, which often gives way to the development and maturity of a teenager seeking to find his/her place in this world. Offering the love and hope of Jesus to students at each grade level is one of the core reasons I am at OCA, and why so many parents choose to send their children here. That truth, and providing the Truth, makes me so thankful for the mission to which God has called me.

Would you please consider making a year-end gift to OCA? Unlike many private schools in Omaha, OCA is not affiliated with a specific church or denomination, which means that we are funded solely by tuition and private donations. Your partnership with us permits us to fulfill the mission to which God has called us.

The Thanksgiving season is a wonderful time to count our blessings and reflect on all that God has provided. I’m thankful for so many friends, like you, who understand the importance of Omaha Christian Academy’s mission to educate students in the light of Biblical Truth.

Grateful for you,

Christi Krehbiel, Principal
